From the idyllic setting of the Rock Glen, you can explore the many sandy beaches nearby, at Mannin Bay or Ballyconneely. Or why not take a trip to nearby Roundstone village, passing by the historic landing site of Alcock and Brown and, nearer the village itself, beautiful Dogs Bay. Golfing enthusiasts will be delighted to hear that the spectacular setting of the Connemara Golf Club, an 18-hole championship course, is only a 15-minute drive from the hotel. Connemara is perfect for hill walking, as well as for river, lake and sea-fishing. If you want to go pony-trekking (Connemara is famous for its ponies), we can arrange this for you. We have a full-size snooker table, as well as an all-weather tennis court and croquet lawn for your pleasure. We can even arrange clay-pigeon shooting on request. |

The Rock Glen Country House Hotel is a beautiful hotel positioned on the coast. We are situated on Ardbear Bay, just south of Clifden, on the west coast of Ireland. Originally built in 1815 as a hunting lodge, the Hotel has an unrivalled view of the Twelve Bens mountain range as you look over Ardbear Bay - the perfect location to get away from it all. The 27 bedrooms all have en-suite facilities, 14 of which are on the ground floor. Each room has a tv, radio, trouser press, hair-dryer and direct dial telephone. |
